The Users' Committee (CDU)

The Commission des Usagers (CDU) ensures that users' rights are respected and facilitates their procedures. This Commission was created by decree no. 2016-726 of 1 June 2016.

Its missions:

• Ensure that users' rights are respected,
• Help to improve the way in which patients and their families are received,
• Contribute to improving the quality of care,
• Facilitate the procedures of users and ensure that they express their grievances to the establishment's managers, that they hear the latter's explanations and are informed of the outcome of their requests.

Its role in the establishment

• It is consulted on policy relating to reception and care and makes proposals in this area.
• It is informed of all complaints or claims made by users of the establishment and the action taken on them.

Its rights and obligations

• Right of access to medical data relating to complaints and claims, subject to the prior written agreement of the person concerned or their heirs if they are deceased.
• Members of the Commission are bound by professional secrecy, medical secrecy and confidentiality.

The current representative appointed by the ARS for the clinic is Mrs Courtois, a member of the APF (Association des Paralysés de France). The roles and rights of the user representative are detailed in a Ministry information sheet.
