As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy, Almaviva Santé organised Eco-Responsible Month from1 to 31 May.
The aim was to raise awareness among our professionals of the need to improve our environmental and social impact. In particular, it focused on preserving water and energy resources, waste sorting and food waste.
Challenge sorting of DASRI (Waste from Healthcare Activities with Infectious Risks).
Because it is infectious, DASRI (Déchet d'Activité de Soins à Risques Infectieux) cannot be recycled. However, a lot of non-infectious waste is disposed of in HIW bins, and treatment by incineration and transportation of HIW by vehicle produces considerable carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
To limit our impact on the environment and raise awareness among our employees about waste sorting, our carers took part in a DASRI sorting challenge. The aim was to raise awareness of the limited nature of natural resources and the harmful effects of pollution resulting from our waste production. By sorting medical waste in this way, we can recycle or revalue other non-hazardous healthcare waste.
Challenge to reduce bread waste
Since 2021, the Clinique Juge has been combating food waste, particularly in the area of bread consumption. Over a one-week period, the clinic collected uneaten bread in order to assess the amount wasted. The actions taken on a daily basis have resulted in a significant and lasting reduction since the previous year.
We congratulate all our teams on their commitment to Almaviva Santé's CSR approach!
